The Semrush IPO had more than one date
The prospectus is dated March 24, 2021. Semrush's annual filing records March 29 as the closing date for the initial public offering, or IPO. We use the closing date for this milestone rather than treating every document date as the same event. Semrush IPO prospectus dated March 24, 2021; Semrush 2021 annual filing
The prospectus explains how the bill could grow
The prospectus described tiered subscriptions alongside increased usage limits and added seat licenses. It also described add-ons sold outside the subscription. Those are historical disclosures, not today's price sheet. They show why comparing the headline plan prices alone was incomplete even then. Semrush IPO prospectus dated March 24, 2021
For a buyer, that is more revealing than the stock-market ceremony. The product is sold as access to a set of jobs within defined limits. A team can outgrow a limit without deciding it needs an entirely different tool.
A second colleague changes the buying question
Imagine the account works well for one person. Then another colleague needs their own access and the team adds more tracked projects. The original feature comparison may still be correct while the original budget no longer describes the purchase.
We would price that real team arrangement before comparing annual totals. The question is whether the work saved justifies the complete cost. Our Ahrefs versus Semrush pricing guide keeps that discussion separate from this historical IPO record. A public listing does not establish that a tool is the best fit for your business.
