What Semrush Costs per Month Right Now
Semrush now puts four paid choices on its main U.S. SEO and AI Search pricing page. SEO costs $139 per month. Starter costs $199, Pro+ costs $299, and Advanced costs $549.
Annual billing lowers the monthly plan rates to $117.33 for SEO and $165.17 for Starter. Pro+ falls to $248.17 and Advanced falls to $455.67. The discount applies to the plan. Do not assume every seat or add-on receives the same reduction.
The clean number is useful for choosing a starting point. The calculator above is the number to carry into a budget meeting.

The old Pro, Guru, and Business lineup no longer describes the main pricing page. Semrush now separates a basic SEO plan from three SEO and AI Search plans.

Why Is Semrush So Expensive Compared with Ahrefs?
It is not always more expensive. Semrush SEO is $10 above Ahrefs Lite, but Semrush Starter is $50 below Ahrefs Standard. A three-person Starter account also starts $80 below a three-person Standard account.
The price starts to feel high when the work calls for Semrush Pro+, more users, or paid extras. Semrush also puts a larger AI Search package into Starter and the higher plans. Those plans are not clean matches for Ahrefs tiers, so compare the limit you need instead of comparing plan names.
A buyer who remembers the old $139 Pro plan can mistake Starter at $199 for a straight $60 price increase. It is not the same package. Semrush still lists an SEO plan at $139, while Starter adds 50 daily AI prompts, AI visibility reports, and AI brand tracking.
Semrush's 2025 annual report makes the model clear. The company built Semrush One around SEO and AI tracking, then grows accounts through higher limits, extra users, and add-ons. That does not make the price wrong. It means the number on the pricing card may be only the beginning of the bill.

Seats and Add-Ons Change the Real Bill
An added Semrush user starts at $45 per month. Lead Generation costs $90 per month. Base Report costs $10 and Pro Report costs $20.
That makes a Starter account for three people at least $289 per month before another add-on appears. Pro+ for three people with Lead Generation and Pro Report starts at $499 per month. The second example reaches $5,988 over a year on monthly billing.
Starting at matters. Put the seat price from your own checkout or quote into the calculator. Do the same for any separate toolkit that does the job you came to Semrush to do.
How Ahrefs Prices Beside Semrush
Ahrefs Lite costs $129 per month. Standard costs $249 and Advanced costs $449. That puts Ahrefs Lite $10 below the Semrush SEO plan. Ahrefs Standard sits $50 above Semrush Starter and $50 below Semrush Pro+.
Ahrefs also charges for people. Added users cost $40 on Lite and $60 on Standard. Advanced users cost $80. Lite includes 1,000 credits per user while Standard and Advanced list unlimited credits per user.

Three Semrush Totals Worth Checking
- One person on SEO. The plan costs $139 per month or about $1,672 for a year at the annual rate.
- Three people on Starter. The plan plus two users starts at $289 per month. That is $3,468 over a year before reporting or other extras.
- Three people on Pro+ with lead generation and Pro Report. The published floor is $499 per month. That becomes $5,988 over a year on monthly billing.
Use these as planning totals. Replace them with the numbers in your checkout or written quote before purchase.
Choose the Plan by the Limit You Will Hit First
Buy SEO when five websites and 500 tracked keywords cover the work. Choose Starter when daily AI prompt tracking is the reason for the account. Pro+ is the first step for 15 websites, historical SEO data, and 1,500 tracked keywords. Advanced is where API data integration and 5,000 tracked keywords appear.
Do not buy the bigger plan because its feature list looks safer. Name the limit that blocks the lower plan. If no one can name it, keep the smaller bill.
